Council of Guides

The Council of Guides supports Maya's mission and vision.

Overview of the Council of Guides

We started the Council in 2019, in the same month the company was founded. This was our first initiative to ensure from the get-go that we wouldn't be building Maya blindly. We knew that the only way to truly serve this community is to work with this community, hearing the wisdom and receiving the critique at every step. This philosophy is applied to our feature selections, product designs, pricing plans, and more or less every other aspect of the business.

We are fortunate to have been immersed in the psychedelic community for many years, and have built Maya in response to the challenges and wishes we heard from this space. Now, as we refine the toolset and do our best to adapt software to the many intangible aspects of psychedelic work, it is more important than ever that we're listening.

Who is on the Council?

The Council is made up of our existing private beta platform partners, plus members of the larger psychedelic community who we hope to expand platform access to.

Benefits of joining the Council

Members of the Council have the opportunity to co-create the Maya platform, giving feedback and guidance based on their experience. Council members also are invited to network with an influential group of practitioners in their field through our monthly Cacao & Conversation web gatherings and online community. Qualified Council members have the opportunity for early access to the Maya platform.

What are the expectations of being on the Council?

We acknowledge the value of your time and do our best to keep touch points efficient. That said, we are eager to learn as much as we can from you, and will occasionally request an hour long call to review upcoming feature scopes for your feedback. You will be kept up-to-date on the progress of Maya's platform via other channels, but there will be times that we seek to validate our priorities in order to ensure that Maya’s features stay aligned with the needs of the community.

Requests for members of the Council include that you can:

  • Show interested and engaged in reviewing our demos, designs, feature plans, and other work.

  • Offer your ideas or requests at all times (even between meetings).

  • Be active in making introductions to others in your network, to whom you feel Maya is relevant.

  • Accept that not all of your suggestions can be prioritized, but that they are all important.

  • Maintain requested confidentiality with regards to our product & business strategy.

How do I join the Council?

If you are reading this page and feel that your experience, perspective, and devotion to this vision would make you a great fit for the Council, we want to hear from you. As we intend to keep regular contact with all members, there is a limit to the rate at which we can grow the group, and hope you'll understand if we determine this isn't the right time to extend an invitation.

If you feel called to the group, based on everything above, please contact us here and indicate in the message that you would like to discuss the 'Council of Guides'.
